Pilot Info

Looking northwest, July 2014

Attention Pilots: Local ATC recommends maintaining 2000′ MSL or below when within 2NM of Brennand Airport, especially when winds are from the north. This will reduce the potential for conflict with traffic landing runway 3 in Appleton.

The FAA database may not reflect improvements made to the airport in 2013. The runway was repaved, widened to 30 feet, and repainted with standard markings. A new three-step pilot-controlled lighting system was installed, along with PAPIs on both ends of the runway. Self-serve 100LL fuel is available 24/7 with a credit card.

Finding Brennand Airport from the Air:

Brennand Airport is located on the 357-degree radial from the Oshkosh VOR (116.75) at 10.2 DME.

Note: The southern edge of Appleton’s Class D tower-controlled airspace is located approximately 1 nm north of Brennand Airport. The ATW tower frequency is 119.6.

If you’re flying in from the west, a row of trees may block the view of the runway until you get close. Look for the north-south row of trees, a subdivision, and a turquoise-colored warehouse building with a white roof and three small wind turbines. The turquoise building (J.J. Keller) makes a good landmark. At night, this landmark has a group of bright yellow-orange lights, with red lights on the wind turbines. Radio towers one mile to the south of this turquoise building also have red lights.
